How a review is put together

A review starts with the job the product needs to do. We check the maker’s listing, the stated materials and sizes, the return policy and any recall notices we can find. Claims from the maker are presented as the maker’s claims. Prices and return windows are given as they stood when we checked.

Honest labels on every review

Some reviews compare products on published specs alone, and those reviews say so. Claire allows first-hand wording only when the writer describes their own use. If we haven’t used a product, we won’t write as if we have. A spec sheet can tell you a harness weight. It can’t tell you whether the buckle pinches, and we keep those two kinds of statement apart.

Advice with limits

Our health and care advice is general. Please treat it as a starting point and take questions about your own dog to a veterinarian or another qualified professional. Our pages can’t replace that advice.

Correcting a review

Claire revisits published reviews and corrects any error that’s found. A corrected review adds a dated note describing the change.
